Jawsheed

Jawsheed is co-founder of Himalayan Ibex and the snowboarding and winter-mountain specialist of the house. Driven by a long connection to winter adventure, he has been among the people pushing Kashmir’s high-altitude snowboarding beyond a novelty. Certified training in avalanche safety and winter wilderness survival sits behind the easy manner on a chairlift morning.

He leads complex backcountry freeride days and technical alpine treks. He has run free snowboarding clinics at Khardung La — extreme altitude, Ladakh Range, not a gentle teaching hill — and led freeride descents over Khardung La and Wari La. That is the expedition end of the work. The other end is a first-timer on Gulmarg’s beginner slopes who needs patience more than hero lines.
